More and more materials that can be laser cut

Aside from metals, plastics and timbers, there are many other materials that can be laser cut successfully. Some exhibit a few issues but most are fine. After 20 years in the business, we’ve pretty much cut (or attempted to) cut just about everything. If you think you have a new one to add to the list, drop in and we’ll do a test cut on the spot.

Below is a list of other materials that can be cut, their maximum thicknesses and any limitations:

  • Leather: up to 6mm (under 1mm is too floppy)
  • Mica: up to 3mm (underside edge bubbles may occur)
  • Quartz glass: up to 3mm (tiny edge fractures may occur)
  • Cardboard: up to 6mm (under 1mm is too floppy)
  • Cement sheet: up to 20mm (underside edge bubbles may occur)
  • Rubber: up to 10mm (will leave a sticky, gooey edge and a foul odour)
  • Fibreglass sheet: up to 10mm
  • Carpet: up to 6mm
  • Carbon Fibre: up to 6mm
